Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it, happy Thursday if you don't. Today I'm thankful for delicata squash, friends, family, kitties, and the 8-hour drive to my ancestral home plus a boyfriend who likes driving, allowing me lots of time to finish this:

and also, for knitty's tutorial on duplicate stitch for giving me a revolutionary new way to weave in the ends. Soon, I hope to be thankful for the magic of blocking for fixing what is now a slightly wonky neckband. Better photos to follow!

Finally, I'm thankful for everyone who's visited my blog! I love reading your comments and checking out your projects and stories. This sweater in particular would have taken a lot longer without your encouragement. Cheers!

The Pretty Thing is done. It needs blocking. Also, it needs to stop getting dark before 5 PM or I'm going to have a hell of a time getting knitting photos.


I had my first Stained Glass Scarf class on Monday. What a trip! Now that I understand what I'm doing, I'm having a lot of fun with this project. I'm so glad I took this class - the pattern is rather hard to understand, but our instructor was great!

Is anyone participating in vestvember? I'm interested, but my Ravelry notebook already overfloweth and I have about a million other projects I want to start that are not Sexy Vesty or an Ivy League Vest or, oh yeah, the Dale of Norway vest that's been languishing in my knitting bag for years...hmmm. I should rename this blog "start-itis central".
